Dear Jon, I just came across your work via a friend who shared the suitcases article. So it’s been an open tab in my browser for days, so haunting I can’t bear to close it. Those shut away lives, the telling minutiae, so mundane, so personal, even more poignant than your photos of the empty peeling rooms in the crumbling asylums. Wow. Your work leaves me speechless. Just sitting here late at night unable to go to bed as it pulls me in again and again. I love your eye. You seem to see with your soul. And in doing so, allow us to feel at one and the same time the soul of the photographer and the photographed. Thank you so much for putting your work out here. It is extraordinary. Please keep sharing. Alison.

Alison, You are so kind. It has always been my goal to have an effect on people who view my photographs. I never try to be obvious, and I don’t ever have an agenda. I just want people to be moved in some way. A comment like yours makes me feel as if I can sometime succeed. I really appreciate your interest. All best, Jon
