Hydrangea
We have a bunch of different hydrangea(s?) growing around the house. I especially like the color of these ones.
I keep meaning to post a bunch of photographs covering what’s been going on in the past few weeks, but I don’t seem to get around to it. I have been trying to put up at least one new case on the Willard site each day for the past week. Check out Pearl B’s case, which I uploaded this evening.
Thanks for following, everyone. Wishing you all a great week.
Forgot to let you know I received my prints last week! They’re great 🙂 Now I need to figure out how to frame them to go with Cheryl Itamura’s poem that you inspired, “signs”. She did a fabulous job with the printing and the layering.
It is indeed a hydrangea, and a very beautiful one!
An interesting note about this flower is that you will see it in a variety of different colors, often on the same plant. The color changes are due to the PH balance of the soil and/or the presence of certain minerals. You must have very iron rich soil.
SMAJ. I think I have heard this before, but none the less, an interesting fact. We have white ones on the other side of the driveway. And I am not sure about the iron in the soil, but I know we have manganese in the well water. Cheers, Jon
These are my favorite color, also! Love Hydrangeas. We lived in Brazil for a year and discovered they grow wild in the forests — big blossoming bushes all over! They call it “Hortensia.” Thanks for your photo!
Hi Jon, I nominate you for the One Lovely Blog Award.
