When we were taking the taxi in from the airport, Cris saw a sign in a shop that said “The world needs more Canada”.

I couldn’t agree more.  The people here are astonishingly nice.

Everytime I come back to the room, the view is different.

Off to the botanical gardens later today.

Do visit Nitobe Japanese Garden at UBC. It is gorgeous at any time of the year, and a peaceful interlude in a busy city. While you are there, nearby are the wonderful walking beaches of point grey, Wreck beach, Locarno beach, Kitsilano beach – phenomenal to be there on a spring day. G

suburban, thanks for the tips. It is bummer that we fly home early Thursday, but the Japanese Garden sounds amazing. This has been a really quick trip, my second, and I seriously want to live here. It is one of the world’s great cities. I could spend hours just watching the float planes take off and land. Best, Jon
