A bit of a melange here.
I have always liked fountain pens (something I share with my dear friend John Wilson). And ink bottles are a big part of why I like them. I think I bought this bottle in Berlin when I lived there.
Cris and I went to the Amherst Farmer’s Market this morning. Lots of root veg. And something I had never seen before except in a bottle.
Turmeric!
We then went up to Blue Dog Leather in Orange where Keith is making a one handed belt for Peter. Got to hang out with his donkeys and his two American Bashkir horses. They grow this coat in the winter and shed most of it in springtime. They are such beautiful animals.
Thanks again Alex. I love the camera.
Excellent Saturday!
I too love fountain pens and have a bottle of Pelikan ink, but it is black. The pony is just beautiful and their coat is wonderful! I’ll bet they are warm to ride bareback in the winter, which was always one of my favorite ways and times to ride in my younger days! Thank you for sharing your art with us.
Love fountain pens! Especially when I could get my hands on purple or peacock blue inks.
I have a strange fondness for fountain pens too. They write so much nicer and look so classy.
That Pelikan ink label is really a lovely piece of typography! I have an old Pelikan fountain pen from the 1970s which was a high-school graduation present from my great-grandmother (I graduated in 1995, so it was already kind of vintage then!). Perhaps sometime I will get it some Pelikan ink to go with.
