American Demographics / Hope and Feathers Exhibit (Image #4)
Here is another shot from my upcoming American Demographics exhibit at Hope and Feathers. I am having some serious fun looking back at these images and seeing Robby Aceto’s amazing hand coloring.
The dates are pretty much set. Opening Thursday evening 4 October, with a gallery talk on Saturday the 20th. I hope to see you there.
By the way, points to anyone who can identify these geezers. Probably taken in the 80s.
Dear Jon,
Thank you so much for sharing these photos with me. I really like them, especially the colored ones that your friend did. Very nice. I’ve been to Russia 5 times & to the Hermetage twice. Wow, what a place. It’s so huge, once isn’t enough. One of the things that I remember were are the gorgeously beautiful wood floors. Did you notice them? The exquisite designs and colors were amazing. You’re right about how the museum shows photography. The rooms weren’t climate controlled at all, the windows were open for air and the sunlight was on some of the art. Not a proper way to display photos. I have hundreds of photos of Russia : from Moscow, st. Petersburg, Novosìbirsk, lake Biakal and Irskutsk. I have photos of extremely old wooden homes and some from their national holiday: Victory Day.
We recently went out west for 11 days. I took tons of photos at Lake Powell, Zion National Park and places in Utah. Since I sincerely love animals, I volunteered to help at Best Friends, an animal rescue sanctuary. I helped out at their Dog Town and Cat World. I had a really great time there.
I wish you a wonderful, successful show. Please keep me posted on your future projects. I always enjoy hearing about them. Take care.
Best Regards,
Martha
Thanks so much Martha, I am curious to know about your interest in Russia. 5 visits is a lot!
