On the Radio

Hi Friends. Sorry for the late notice but I will be on WXXI Rochester today (6 April) at 1:00 PM. (wxxinews.org) I will be talking about the suitcases and will be joined by the amazing Peg Ellsworth who worked at Willard for almost 40 years. The program will also be archived so you can listen later. Thanks!

So glad to see your post again, Jon. It’s been a long time.
Too late to hear this broadcast, but hope to get
the replay soon.
Listened to the replay. Nicely done.
Hello,
My husband’ great grandmother Bertha Kubli Trittenbach was a patient at Willard Asylum from perhaps 1901-1948 when she passed. Is there anyone we could contact to see if her suitcase was one that was saved? We also would like more info on how she got there. Her husband died in Illinois, she traveled back to her family in Switzerland. Upon returning while in New York City something happened that caused her two sons to end up in an orphanage. They eventually were sent on the Orphan Train and adopted until they ran away at 16 and 17 to join the army. They were sure their mother would never have abandoned them. Her younger son found her right before her death. She apparently hadn’t said a word in the whole time she was there. When she saw her grandson she thought it was her son and called out his name. Having a suitcase with documents of postcards travel itineraries would be so helpful. Thank you for any help you could give me or link me to.
