Tiny Daffodils
Good morning everyone. The New York Times doesn’t come until after 9.00 on Sundays so I wander around waiting for it to show up. These daffs are just outside the back door so after my third time checking for the paper, I realized I should take a picture and post it here. / I am at the beginning of a week where I plan to spend maximum time in my studio cleaning, organizing, and generally getting rid of stuff I haven’t used in years. I started yesterday and it feels great. Back to shooting suitcases tomorrow and am very excited to be going with Ilan Stavans, as he has an interest in a particular case. Wishing you all a great week, and early delivery of your Sunday paper.
Stinky 2
So weird. When I looked at the front page of the dining section of the Times today a familiar word jumped out at me. From the Dhaka Daily Star to the New York Times.
Joel Lamstein in NYT
I used to do quite a bit of work for the New York Times. I started shooting for them when Carlo Mastricolo was one of the assignment editors and I was living in Ithaca. When I moved to the City, I continued doing freelance work for them and when I ended up in Massachusetts, they still called on me from time to time. I think the last job I shot for them was James Taylor at his house in the Berkshires.
Yesterday I got an email from Penelope Riseborough at World Education saying that Joel Lamstein was being featured in today’s business section. The Times used a picture of Joel I took some years ago that I have always liked. He is an amazing guy and as Cris worked for him for almost 20 years, we have gotten to know him pretty well. / It was nice to see my name in the paper again after all these years. Here is a link to the article.
